Meet the cooks
Meet the cooks
On a personal note
We live in a small coastal Maine town called Blue Hill. Growing up in an area filled with creativity and community (and seafood) allowed us to develop passions, specifically ones involving good food. Sean recently graduated from SMCC with a degree in Communications and New Media Studies, which gave him experience with web design and blog creation. Isabelle is currently pursuing a double major in Communications and Media Studies from USM, which makes the idea of writing for a blog all the more exciting.
We are both animal lovers, hence the name of the blog. Our name is partly inspired by Elvis, Isabelle’s Great Dane who loves two things: eating and looking for more food to eat (insert photo below).
Aside from sampling new dishes, we also share a love of traveling and working with our hands. We are currently designing and building a tiny house together— paying special attention to the kitchen, of course.
What started this blog?
The answer is simple; a desire to share our favorite recipes with our community. As a young couple who always looks for ways to make delicious food on a small budget, we love to create new dishes and try out different takes on classic recipes.
While Sean’s area of expertise is protein-packed, one-pot concoctions, Isabelle leans more toward baking all sorts of sweet treats and trying her hand at mixology. Together, we make a perfect team. Our mission for this blog is to provide options for yummy, healthy, and often decadent recipes that are simple enough to work into your weekly rotation.
We believe that food should be a positive experience, from the standpoint of the cook and the diner. With our blog, we hope to embody this goal and give you options that will satisfy your cravings, keep your pocketbook intact, and bring a smile to your face.
